What screen recording software you need, it depends on what screencast you want to make. As for me, screen recorder like DemoCreator is easier to create interactive Flash demos. I have switched to Mac and for the past 1 year waiting them to port it. Unfortunately my job doesn't wait for them to port, so I have found Voila screen capture tool http://www.globaldelight.com/voila which gives me the closest resemblance of Snagit.
