If you use Google Analytics but haven’t heard of Clicky yet, get on board for an amazing concept: real time visitor traffic you can see!
Clicky, Real Time Analytics

One of my favorite cloud computing companies, Clicky, turned 3 years old this weekend!

I’ve been using it on my websites, blogs and client sites since September of 2007 and love it because I can see what is happening real time.  I did a writeup on Clicky last year where I compared Clicky to Google Analytics.

Sean, the creator of Clicky, put out this heartfelt thanks on his blog:

I can’t believe it’s been three years, but the calendars don’t lie. Clicky is now tracking over 155,000 web sites, powered by over 30 servers chugging along in the background. We never expected it to get this big. We greatly appreciate everyone who has supported us throughout the years and told your friends and colleagues about our service – Clicky has spread purely by word of mouth and that’s the best kind of marketing anyone can ask for. Thank you for everything.

I of course responded in kind:

Sean,

Congrats! You certainly have been a shining example of how to launch, run and grow a successful cloud computing company by focusing on customer service, cutting edge features and honesty.

I’ve been with Clicky since 9/24/2007 and have loved the service since day one!

With over 150,000 websites using Clicky, some big names include:

Plans range from Free to $299 a year.  You pay to track more sites, longer data history, the spy feature, Twitter analytics and more.  I’ve been using the Pro plan for the last two years but will be stepping up to the Super Pro to support more websites.

I’ll be doing a post this week how ecommerce sites can use Clicky to boost sales for the holiday season and measure their campaigns.

Clicky might be 3 years old but this is the first time I hear about it. I'll take a look and see if it's indeed better than Google Analytics. What I'd like to see is a better way to produce the reports.

  • Matthew,

Clicky is great to use WITH Google Analytics so you get both realtime
    traffic and longer term data.

Let me know what you think! I love using Clicky to quickly see how traffic
    is developing

    Hello Adria!
I just got one of my sites to work with Clicky so I'll have to come back in a few weeks with my feedback. From what I've seen it's quite better than analytics when it comes to accessing data. I mean it's way easier to find what I need.
  • Matthew,

I agree. My clients find the Clicky reports MUCH EASIER to read than what I
    send them from Google Analytics.

The goal of these tools is to help you make decisions about your content,
design, functionality and message. Armed with this information, you can
    then hit your "targets"
