One underappreciated benefit of streaming is that they generally don't have previews. That alone makes me prefer streaming over watching the same movie on DVD.

like to watch commercials.

I've been streaming Crack-flix over the PS3 to my TV for at least 1 month now. I no longer use/have cable TV, and I sure enjoy the control I have, as well as the quality. I'm looking forward to the day when more companies realize the benefit of delivering content directly to the consumer.
