I got a surprise yesterday when I did my live show on how to Jailbreak an iPhone.

I was going to upgrade my Jailbroke 3G S from 3.0 to 3.0.1 but had a problem when I selected the .ipsw file. iTunes gave me that error,

This device isn’t eligible for the requested build

I found several reports on forums and in the comments section indicating other people were trying to jailbreak or upgrade and were having the same problem.

Stay tuned at the iPhone Dev Team’s blog for their status on jailbreaking the 3.1 iPhone OS. They are the creators of QuickPwn, Yellowsn0w, Redsn0w, PwnageTool and Ultrasn0w. As of today 9/15/2009, the iPhone Dev Team is still working to jailbreak 3.1.

It looks like this change was done last week after apple announced and released 3.1. Pretty sneak Apple!
