I’m Going To See My First Las Vegas Show! Cirque du Soleil via Blogworld

How cool is it that the social media manager of Cirque du Soleil is inviting Blogworld attendees to see a Cirque du Soleil show in Las Vegas!

Cirque Du Soleil "O"

Since I’m going to Blogworld, I went online and took the Cirque Quiz http://getcirqued.com/quiz to see which show would be right for me.  It turned out that the water show…also known as “O” was the recommended one.

I also called my neighbor Tony who I went to see, The Color Purple: The Musical with because he also likes Cirque du Soleil.  They were just in town and he came back from the show all excited with this big, colorful book of the different shows.  He said I’d like the water show too!

How exciting as this will be my first Vegas show.   I just took my very first trip to Vegas for my friends wedding last Thanksgiving.  Not only was I nervous about traveling, I wasn’t really sure about what to “do” in Vegas but ended up having a great time!  I was too nervous to blog about it but I do see I tweeted some of my thoughts.

Here’s what the quiz said about me:

You have sophisticated taste and enjoy the finer things in life. You yearn for luxury and indulgence, making “O” at Bellagio, the “must see” in between your decadent dinners and designer shopping sprees! Cirque du Soleil paints an aquatic masterpiece with “O”. The international cast of world-class acrobats, synchronized swimmers, divers and surreal characters perform in, on, and above water to create a breathtaking spectacle. Inspired by the concept of infinity and the elegance of water’s pure form, “O” pays tribute to the beauty of the theatre.

Staying Updated and Social for Upcoming Conferences

One things I’m learning to do is once I plan to attend a conference, I setup camp just like I was doing a deer hunt (or so I guess since I’ve never hunted animals for sport).

I sign up for Blogworld’s RSS feed via my RSS Google Reader, setup Google alerts, follow the Twitter accounts, the Twitter hashtags and start reading about the speakers, attendees and looking over last year’s Flickr photo albums to get an idea of what to expect.
