Minneapolis Traffic Cops Suck [VIDEO]

After heading in to pay a $108 traffic ticket to the City of Minneapolis, I decided to express my thoughts on the subject by parking my iPhone on my steering wheel.

I propose that cities completely give up handing out tickets for non moving violations, fire the ticket cops and hearing officers and reinvest the money they save into any number of underfunded departments including:

  • Education
  • Healthcare
  • Housing
  • Taxes

    Hundred 8 a pop x 3. That's insane. In the land of Lincoln Traffic camera's, meter readers, broken meters, and the boot are several ways we get scammed by the DMV and City Revenue department. If you get a series of any 2 in a row your are hiding I mean facing a boot. This is an additional 450.00. Right on for speaking your mind. Power to the Geek.

    I got a ticket for not having up-to-date tabs. The damn tabs were still affixed to the piece of paper, which was sitting on the dash of my car.

    Although, if you already went through this once, why didn't you just put the new tabs on the car right away?!

    Grr! See! What a waste of “police” enforcement. I'm sure your car doesn't
    jump onto the curb and attack people.

    My tabs arrived after I'd left town for a conference. Thankfully my
    neighbor put my car in a private parking spot. This simply highlights our
    broken system.

    Most cops are just tax collectors for the city/township/county/state. Generally, no excuse will dissuade them from performing their tax collection duties and writing you a ticket. Pair that with a money grubbing prosecutor and judge with a typical small town kangaroo court and you have the makings of a wonderfully effective money making machine.
